The **Fully Qualified Service Name** or **FQSN** (November 11, 2025) is a descriptive name for an &ref application that includes the following information:
  * Application
  * Instance name
  * Environment
  * Platform provider
  * Platform discriminant (eg. geographic region, VM name, or platform group followed by additional platform provider-discriminant pairs)

This quintuple succinctly specifies a particular application instance along with the infrastructure on which it runs.
