#luigi (October 20, 2020) (formerly #spawn (formerly #luigi (formerly #spawn (formerly #halloween)))) is a channel for interacting with bots, primarily focused on receiving messages from bots which are not necessarily direct replies to users. Such spawning messages include those from:

• Trick'cord Treat, where the first person to respond to a bot message with a particular string earns a treat,
• Pokecord, for catching pokemon that spawn randomly based on the number of messages sent in the server,
• &ref #general server messages, where announced messages from #general appear.

Notable exceptions include:

• Snowball Bot, which was set to use yamcha-fan-board-and-snowball.

The name “luigi” comes from the Hack Club emoji :luigi:, which is a picture of Pikachu. The motivation comes from Pokecord, which spawns pokemons including Pikachu. However, Pokecord no longer spawns pokemons in #luigi, and instead uses commands.
